The
Chroma Group (Chroma) is a software company that develops
complex analytical applications for life and earth sciences,
using advanced technology for pattern recognition and
complex systems simulation. Chroma is funded by Draper
Fisher Jurvetson and TDI. The Board includes Tim Draper,
Bill OConnell (Vice Chairman and Co-founder of
Amdahl) and Kevin J. Ryan.
Chromas Chief Scientist, Dr. Fredric Young, is
a theoretical biophysicist, former NIH researcher, early
Genentech employee, and inventor of several patented,
breakthrough technologies, including ImageGenetics®,
a biomathematical pattern recognition technology. Chroma
builds applications based on Dr. Young’s inventions
and then hires
teams and funds the companies separately.
To date, the Chroma Group has focused on life and earth
sciences and launched the following three companies:
Quantitative Imaging, a
medical device company that develops computer-aided
detection (CAD) software for major medical imaging screening
indications using biomathematical pattern recognition
technology.
Chroma
Energy, an energy company that discovers
and develops natural gas deposits worldwide using biomathematical
pattern recognition technology.
Vicus
Therapeutics (Vicus), a biopharmaceutical company
developing supportive care therapies to improve the
survival and the quality of life of cancer patients.
Vicus is creating high value, safe, and effective therapies
with substantially reduced regulatory and commercial
risks, costs, and timetables. |
